Well, I don’t have anything to add… except that Toronto’s Good Food Festivals is one of the biggest consumer’s fare in this city, with 29,000 visitors.

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for being a part of the 18th annual Good Food Festival & Market. We were so pleased to have you at the show as your products are fantastic! Everyone was raving about how great the sauces were so I was quite disappointed when I came to buy some for myself and you were already sold out of two of the products by Saturday! Please let me know where I can buy them. This must be due to the line-ups you had at your booth all weekend long! Although you did not choose to participate in our People’s Pick contest I am happy to report that your products keep appearing on the ballots written in by hand by consumers! I have already seen several hundred votes for your Basil Pesto Sauce as Favorite Product Overall! This is unheard of! I have never seen a product that was not on the ballot win or even come close for that matter but this may be the exception. It will take a few more days to completely count and record all of the ballots but I will let you know. Good Luck.

Thank you again for your participation and I hope to see you next year.

Regards,

Christine Wong
Assistant Festival Manager
Good Food Festival & Market

I was thinking of inviting Bob for supper tonight. I made a delicious porc roast, but then I remembered... he dosn't like porc. So be it, tomorow i'll make fish, thats more his style. For me, the aroma in the kitchen is so soothing and tempting that I chose not to invite him I'd rather indulge in this "délice", but his songs will play all night, I love his music...

I was thinking of inviting Bob for supper tonight. I made a delicious pork roast, but then I remembered… he doesn’t like pork. So be it, tomorrow I’ll make fish, that’s more his style. For me, the aroma in the kitchen is so soothing and tempting that I chose not to invite him… I’d rather indulge in this “délice”, but his songs will play all night, I love his music…

Remarks

Too much ham (nitrites and the rest…) too often in the kids lunch motivated me to make this pork roast. It’s delicious and surprisingly affordable for something of this caliber.

INGREDIENTS

1 Pork roast

10 garlic cloves (cut in slivers)

Curry or Garam Masala

Le Grand’s Lemon Confit Sauce ( or any of Le Grand’s sauce will shine in this role!)

Sea Salt

PREPARATION

Heat up the oven @ 200F

With a knife, make small incisions in the meat and insert the garlic

In a pan roast some Garam Masala over a very fine layer of sea salt

When the Garam Masala or Curry starts to release its fragrance, roast the pork on both sides for a couple minutes

Remove from pan and spread the Lemon Confit sauce or any Le Grand’s Sauces!

Cook slowly for 2 hours

Garnish with chives or anything green, but chopped finely

Play some Bob Dylan!

Yet every time I have it I love it and I make a second and a… Third! My take on it isn’t traditional. Even though I’m sure I could open a joint on Route 66 and delight many truckers, none of them would realize that they’re wolfing down raw veggies and whole wheat bread… This magic trick was not shown to me by David Copperfield… But it works!
The only “trick” here is to make sure you have the right bread. I favor thick, crusty “country bread”, but no matter what type of bread you use, make sure it’s well toasted but not too crunchy. There’s lots of veggies and they can soak the bread. Also make sure your Mozzarella is thinly sliced. It will be packed with flavour, save those calories for… Dessert?

RECIPE/GUIDELINES

One slice of bread (country style)
1/4 red pepper cut in little cubes
1 belgian endive, (it has a neutral taste in this environment) diced
A nice slice of good country ham or turkey
2 THIN slices of Mozzarella
Chives or green onion, finely chopped!
Le Grand’s Garden Pesto, enough to cover the bread nicely!

Toast the bread and turn on the broil
Once the bread is toasted, spread it with Le Grand’s Garden Pesto
Add the endives, red pepper, chives and top it with cheese
Put it under the broil; you want to melt the cheese and maybe have a little golden hue but not more! Et Voilà! C’est simple!
